*Note: The ceiling rope hoist have minimum lifting weights. In order to open the cam and lower smoothly the block and tackle needs the weight to work against the friction in it. We recommend trying to be closer to the maximum weight than minimum for better overall function.

We need every square inch of floor space in our 1 car garage at the oceanfront community we reside. The garage has a low roof. The suspenz system gets our kayak as tight to the rafters as possible, significantly tighter than other systems we considered. Configuring the system took a bit of consideration to place the block and tackle due to the short depth of the garage and long length of the tandem kayak. About 6 hours for the install which included re-tying the lift ropes a couple of times to optimize the lift height and block and tackle length.

So glad we purchased these kayak lifts. Our yaks weigh around 70lbs a piece, we just lower on the truck or trailer & off we go. Great sturdy product.
Purchased a ceiling host years ago for up north and love it so I knew when I purchased a yak down south, I needed the same hoist. The rope is better in the new version and I love the yellow ball to make hoisting just a little bit easier. Great product!
The Suspenz system works beautifully. The installation instructions were well detailed and easy to follow. It is nice to have a storage area for the kayaks at home, in the garage and out of the way, when they are not in use. As you can see from the photo, because of the shape of the bottom of these kayaks, I tied the remaining strap lengths in a cross fashion to better stabilize them.
Bought the 60 lb, 10 ft ceiling version for storing a lightweight 16 ft canoe. I needed to create a modified installation to suspend the canoe at a bit of an angle below the garage door because the garage bay is quite short. Some of the instruction book sequence was odd (confusingly repeated some parts), but was able to figure it out. All in all, it works great.
