Excellent Quality. Worked well for my wooden boat.
The All-Terrain Super Duty Airless Cart worked perfectly to transport my Navaroo Loon16 canoe. I had an old LL Bean cart with a similar design but after years of use, it wore out. I was delighted to find this one. The airless tires and double straps make it easy to use and it looks sturdy enough to last for years.
I recently had the privilege to use the Suspenz canoe cart on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway (AWW). We used it several times during the famed canoe trip, but it really shined during the 1/4 mile Allagash Falls portage. We were able to transport the canoes and all of our gear from a 5 day trip using the Suspenz cart system. As you can see from the pictures and videos we had a lot of weight in the canoes and traveled over some very rough terrain, and without any issues or malfunctions. The cart folds flat and stored easily in the bottom of the canoe until we were ready to use it. Highly recommend this cart to anyone looking for a rugged canoe cart that lives up to its description. I have made this portage several times…but never again without my Suspenz cart. Blaine Bronson - Wild Waters Guide Service , Abbot Maine
I built this device right out of the box in less than 20 minutes, and, that was taking my time. It is very solid and well built, looking forward to many many years of service with my kayak (which when fully geared out is about 175 pounds).
Bought it for a canoe. Problems is the supports dont work in the lowest/widest position because they rub on the tires. Seems like an obvious design flaw to miss.
We faced a number of decisions when designing the Bunker Bar positioning on this cart.
The original version of the cart in 2013 had 3 positions for the Bunker Bars.
When making improvements to the cart we considered offering 4 positions by having 2 holes in the dog ear on the frame and 2 holes on the Bunker Bar. This would have provided 4 fully functional positions.
We opted to use 3 holes in the Bunker Bar yielding 6 possible positions. As you noted, 5 of the positions are functional and one is not useable due to the wheel interference issue you noted.
Another significant factor we had to consider was ensuring the new Bunker Bar's backward compatibility with earlier carts.
After much debate and consideration, we concluded that it was more beneficial to provide 5 usable positions on the cart.
In the manual, we state, “There are 5 adjustment holes (2 on cart tab & 3 on bunker bar) giving Bunker Bar spacings of 9”, 11”, 13”, 19” or 20”.
