This rack is easy to assemble, and real sturdy. The weakest link are the ceiling mounts, I would not dare anchor this in anything but solid wood, had to locate rafters through the ceiling for install. They do extend a bit low in my case, so I need to keep the arms mounted higher. Versatile, can accommodate a lot of items that take room on the floor. The foam on the arms is pretty dense, will surely protect from scratches anything fitting this rack.
I was recently reorganizing my garage and wanted something more low profile for my kayaks. Previously I was using a pulley and strap system but they hung low, took up a lot of space and required me to have ropes anchored to various parts of my garage. This solution worked perfectly and keeps my garage looking sleek and clean.
We don't have windsurfer boards or S'up's but we have kayaks and the ability to set this up for either of these or for both is certainly appreciated. The system is easily assembled and provides a solid base for our 2 fishing kayaks, which are a little over 9' long and are wider than touring or white water models. We used to hang these from chains fixed to the rafters in our garage, but using these mounts makes it much easier to store and get the kayaks than that. You do need to be aware that these do extend down from where you mount them about 17", so you want to pick a place in the garage where it won't affect whatever you're driving into the garage to park underneath it, particularly if your garage has a finished ceiling and is low. I tested my spot by backing my truck in and measuring before I mounted it. The nice thing is I was able to put this up so it's over the bed of my truck. When I want to use them, all I have to do is back in the truck and slide the kayaks off and lay
Easy to assemble and install, sturdy strong bars. This type of foam tears easily though, so we duct taped that right away. Kayaks fit in it nicely, will be using in the basement for winter storage.
This was easy to install and holds my paddle board perfectly!! Make sure you know how to find studs and really anchor it to the ceiling so you dont have a massive mess with it falling and bringing all the drywall with it. It comes with the hardware you need. You will just need a stud finder, ladder, and drill for the install.
